ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC: In the 50's and 60's when Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Beatles, etc., were doing their thing, there was another group of rock and roll entertainers whose music some of you who lived through the period will undoubtedly remember, but all you who were a part of the beginnings of Rock and Roll will enjoy. This rock and roll group had their beginnings in central Florida, but were soon booked out of Nashville by the One Nighters Booking Agency—an agency that was also booking Elvis Presley and other rock and roll entertainers of the time. The group was Don Love and the HEARTBEATS.

This web site of rock and roll memorabilia of the 1950s and 1960s was taken from the photo album of the HEARTBEATS and is dedicated to the memory of their bass player, Bob Love. If you would like to hear their music while you look at their photo album, click on the "Don Love and the HEARTBEATS" button below. Their contributions to Rock and Roll include "Stop Rocking the Boat" and "So Lonely"--which were sung by TONY KAYE, one of the group's vocalists. These songs, as well as LARRIE CROSBY'S "Think It Over Baby" and "I Wanna Do It" were mastered at Sun Records (the birth place of Rock and Roll) by Scotty Moore, Elvis Presley's lead guitar player, and were released on the Fern Creek record label.
