WROTE:
Dear Don & B’Ann:
AND LET HIM COME SOON! DON WROTE: Hello Marc, Good to hear from you again. When I look around me at the mess mankind is making of this world, that, too, is my prayer. Come quickly, Lord Jesus–for the children's sake, come quickly! And Marc, I don't think that you and I are the only one's that sees the mess. In fact, I dare say that there are few, if any, on this spiritually sick planet who are not aware of today's chaos. Thanks to the so-called news media, the "free" nations are constantly barraged with depressing, discouraging rhetoric–the conservative media listing mountains of "symptoms," while the liberal press are being part of the problem–using their positions to be "agents of change" rather than reporters of the actual news. Meanwhile, those in the third-world countries and those in repressive, dominated countries are experiencing the chaos first hand–being the victims of cruel regimes and godless individuals. Having said this, let me set forth what I believe to be the actual cause of all this mayhem. I'm speaking of something that I hold very dear: i.e., the sleeping Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. (I'm not speaking of the church: the organizations; but the living Church: the Spirit-filled Body of Christ. For a thorough study of the following prophetic passage, go to our on-line book, CLOCK OF THE AGES .)
I'm not saying that the Church is actually "doing" the evil things that are destroying life as we know it–but it is what it has not been doing that has been the problem. Jesus said that He calls out men and women to follow Him and to be the light of the world; but since the 1950's, rather than being the light of the world, believers, for the most part, have hid their "candle" under a bushel (Luke 11:33-35). (A bushel was a common household object that was used in the meeting of everyday needs in New Testament times.) Because today's Church became obsessed with "worldly needs and things," it has been easy prey for "wolves in sheep's clothing": i.e., charismatic men who have tickled their ears–telling them what they want to hear while making "little kingdoms" for themselves. Consequently, the world has seen a splintered, scattered church that agrees on little and which is represented by self-serving men who want to "be seen in the market place"–being desirous of fame and fortune rather than the will of God. HOWEVER, IF THE CHURCH HAS BEEN THE PROBLEM, IT MUST ALSO BE THE CURE!!! Think on it! The world is in darkness because few in the Church have let their light shine; and short of Jesus' imminent return, their is no other way for "light" to get into the world but through the ones the Lord Jesus has declared to be the "light of the world." For this "cure" to take place, the Church must first awaken from its slumber; and I'm satisfied that the many end-time signs are now shaking them out of their sleep. When the Church finally wipes the sleep from its eyes and sees the spiritual darkness encompassing the world, its first response will be: "Lord, what can I do?" This was my response when the Holy Spirit stirred me awake; and the answer He gave me was not what I would have expected. I am not to put my time and resources behind a organizational church or an evangelist unless they are bringing souls into the kingdom and then only as I am led by the Spirit. (Remember, the majority of these entities have been a major part of the problem.) Instead, I was to stir up the Gift that is in me (i.e. the Holy Spirit) and learn to walk in the Spirit!!! When I did, the Scripture that He quickened to my heart was:
This put the responsibility for the souls of men directly on ME–not some church and not some preacher. All of this brought to mind a question: "What if every believer were to meet his responsibility to the Lord and to the lost and allow themselves to be used of the Lord to bring at least one soul into the Kingdom of God...how many new souls would be letting light into the world? Church, I'm satisfied that bringing light into the world is just as easy as entering into our prayer closets and letting the Holy Spirit lay upon our hearts the soul (or souls) that He would save. It may be that we have some other part to play in their salvation–a spoken word or a kind deed; or it may be that Christ will send them to another in answer to our prayers; but we can be confident that He will bring it to pass.
Think on it! If the Holy Spirit leads us to pray for souls, then we know that He heard us and we know that we have prayed according to His will for He led us in our prayer. CHURCH, let's open our hearts and let some light into the darkness that surrounds us. Also, if this word rings true in your heart, pass it on to other believers that they, too, can help bring the Light of Christ into this sin-sick world. Maranatha, Don |

DON WROTE: OK, Church. You see the need. Please go to your prayer closets and ask the Lord how to pray for brothers and sisters-in-Christ who are doing their best to serve our Master in Nepal! |
