Luke 17:28-32
Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did
eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone
from heaven, and destroyed [them] all.
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the
house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field,
let him likewise not return back.
Remember Lot's wife.
Genesis 19:1-11
And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of
Sodom: and Lot seeing [them] rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with
his face toward the ground;
And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's
house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early,
and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all
night.
And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered
into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and
they did eat.
But before they lay down, the men of the city, [even] the men of Sodom,
compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every
quarter:
And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where [are] the men which came
in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray
you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as [is] good in your eyes:
only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of
my roof.
And they said, Stand back. And they said [again], This one [fellow] came in
to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee,
than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, [even] Lot, and came
near to break the door.
But the men [angels] put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to
them, and shut to the door.
And they smote the men that [were] at the door of the house with blindness,
both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
Romans 1:18-32
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath
shewed [it] unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly
seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power
and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither
were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish
heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to
corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their
own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their
women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in
their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly,
and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave
them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit,
malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil
things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection,
implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are
worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do
them.
Daniel 12:1-4
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for
the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as
never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that
time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in
the book.
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to
everlasting life, and some to shame [and] everlasting contempt.
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and
they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, [even] to the time
of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased [The
Hebrew word means to
increase greatly or exceedingly ].
2 Timothy 3:1-9
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent,
fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn
away.
For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly
women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the
truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto
all [men], as theirs also was.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but
after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching
ears;
And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned
unto fables.
Ezekiel 38:8
After many days thou [Israel] shalt be visited: in the latter years thou
shalt come into the land [that is] brought back from the sword, [and is]
gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have
been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they
shall dwell safely all of them.
Matthew 24:6-8
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see
that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the
end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there
shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
All these [are] the beginning of sorrows.
Isaiah 32:1-5
Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in
judgment.
And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the
tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in
a weary land.
And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that
hear shall hearken.
The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the
stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said [to
be] bountiful.
